Stop And Frisk:
Is it saving lives or an attack on civil rights?

Last year the NYPD conducted over 685,000 stops under the stop-and-frisk practice.  However, more than 85% of those stops were black and Latino.   Is this a necessary evil that keeps our streets safe or is this an attack on human rights? 
 We'll talk to Juan Cartagena,President and General Counsel of LatinoJustice PRLDEF and Center for Constitutional Rights attorney Darius Charney who is leading the current federal class action lawsuit against NYC on behalf of the plaintiffs who say their rights have been violated.  



House Passes Watered Down Violence Against Women Act 

After consulting with an all male activist group, the GOP-controlled House finally agreed to pass the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act, but not before totally stripping it of its merits like it was a Ferrari in a chop shop.  Find out what provisions have been stripped out of the bill.  




U.S. Requests Help To Pay For Afghan Army 

The United States and NATO  are trying to build an Afghan army that can defend the country after 130,000 international troops pull out. However, the $4.1 billion a year cost is a hefty price that might fall on the US.

Egyptian Court Acquits Police in Protesters' Deaths
An Egyptian court found 14 policemen not guilty in the killing of early 850 protesters who died during the revolts and uprisings in Egypt last year.  Is this a pattern of acquittals for police blamed for the deaths of hundreds of people during the revolt?
